On Monday, I received a phone call from Kevin Cessna-Buscemi, the director of the National Spanish Examinations. He passed on the good news: I received the scholarship to Spain! I had applied for the scholarship to either Spain or Costa Rica, but I am elated to be going back to Spain. I have studied in various cities throughout the country, and it will be wonderful to have this opportunity to spend more time there. I teach high school Spanish at St. Christopher's in Richmond, Virginia. My coworkers were very excited to hear the news. I am lucky to work with an incredibly supportive group of people. This July, I hope to learn more about the fascinating country and language and to bring back interesting ideas to my classes next year. Thank you for this opportunity!
